Rising Star Dojo Rex Shocks the Music Industry with Viral Hit "Welcome to the Dojo"

Terrance Vasser is professionally known as Dojo Rex, an independent Hip-Hop/Rap artist hailing from Selma, Alabama. Selma is the historic city that is home to the Edmund Pettus Bridge, which Martin Luther King Jr. crossed during the March for Civil Rights. Dojo’s recently released project, “Championship,” has been making waves across social media.

The music video for his single, “Welcome To The Dojo,” has already accumulated over 134,000 views on YouTube in just a few short weeks. This came as a shock to many due to it tripling the view count of his previous song, “Fireman,” showing that there’s something special about this small-town artist from the black-belt area. Dojo has also worked alongside some notable videographers such as Cotto0verdidit, MontanaShotYa, and Alabama’s own DTG Studios who all played a part in bringing his vision to life.

Dojo has been practicing his craft for 13 year, even though he is just starting to make it big. When asked what advice he would give to other aspiring artists from his area, he replied, “I would tell them to work on their signature until it becomes an autograph,” which were the cryptic words of one of his best friends who passed away due to gun violence in 2014.

The future looks bright for Dojo Rex, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next. His success is not only a win, but also serves as an inspiration to the youth who look up to him. Let’s hope that his story will spark motivation and encouragement in the hearts of aspiring artists everywhere.
