The largest textile and garment machinery exhibition in South Asia, the 17th Dhaka International Textile and Garment expo (DTG 2023) was held at International Convention City (Bashundhara) on Wednesday 15 February.

The exhibition attracts 1200 companies representing 35 countries from around the world over the four-day period. There are also rumored hopes that exhibitors will capture nearly US$ 4 billion of the apparel and textile machinery market in Bangladesh (Bangladesh), where there has been a 20% increase in sales year-over-year.

Media reports highlighted this claim that Bangladesh’s machinery market has identified Bangladesh as having huge business potential, since the industry is expanding on the backs of shifting work orders to Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Sales Area Manager of Santoni β€” Santoni is an Italian manufacturer of textile machines β€” Gianpiero Valsecchi reportedly stated business grew roughly 40 per cent year on year in Bangladesh in the last two years despite the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
