Local Businesses Benefit From Digital Main Street Grants

Cornwall Ontario – Small business owners across the region have taken advantage of a program designed to help them digitally transform their business.

Digital Transformation Grant - Cornwall SDG

To date, over 25 businesses have received the Digital Transformation Grant.

“Small Businesses commitment to embracing digital technologies demonstrates their resilience and vision for the future” says Faiz Cheema, Digital Service Coordinator, Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre.

Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre coordinates the Digital Main Street Program locally. The program offers small businesses two resources:

  • Digital Service Squads We offer one-on-one assistance and technical training. Small business owners will receive targeted assistance to get started and grow their digital presence. Applications for the resource are now available.
  • Digital Transformation Grants Small businesses can receive up to $2,500 towards the implementation of digital strategy.

The program is built upon an online platform for learning, structured training, grants, and Digital Service Squads, which are expert teams of experts who can help small businesses improve their digital technology use to promote and run a business.

The DMS program has empowered small businesses to take advantage of the digital tools that are available to support their business.

“I was trying to design a website forever, but didn’t have the skills or the funds to hire someone,” says Alex Adra, Owner of Waikato Pizza in Maxville. “The Digital Transformation Grant helped me get getting my business online”

Intake Window Still Open

Small businesses in Cornwall & SDG have 5 days left to apply for the Digital Transformation Grant (DTG) 4.0, through the Digital Main Street (DMS) program. The Digital Main Street $2,500 Digital Transformation Grant ends September 30, 2023.  Businesses that are eligible can begin the application process by creating an account or entering their information, and then completing a digital assessment and online training via the Digital Main Street Portal.
