The 2023 TCT Hall of Fame nominees are now announced


The TCT Group has announced the six nominees for the 2023 TCT Hall of Fame.

The TCT Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions of those in the additive manufacturing or 3D printing industry who have dedicated their lives to research, development, innovation, and promotion of these technologies.

A panel of esteemed judges put forward their nominations for individuals they believe have made a significant and long-term impact. The nominees for the TCT Hall of Fame in 2023 have been selected from those with the most votes.

Duncan Wood, Chief Executive of Rapid News Publications Ltd stated, “It is always a supreme honour and privilege to induct new entrants to the TCT Hall of Fame at the TCT Awards. The list includes industry legends and innovators. They have all made significant contributions over a long time to additive manufacturing and 3-D printing, and their impact on accelerating the adoption is obvious for all. The list this year is no different. I congratulate all the nominees and wish them luck in the future.

In alphabetical order, the nominees are:

Andy Christensen – Medical Applications Specialist & Advisor

Andy has dedicated his entire career to developing and expanding pioneering medical applications for 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and other related technologies.

Diana Kalisz, Process pioneer and material specialist

Diana has been a part of 3D Systems since over 30 years. She has been integral in the development and application of the technology, materials, and applications.

Jean-Pierre Kruth, AM researcher and pioneer of process innovation

Professor Jean-Pierre Kruth was a researcher in AM for more than 30+ years. He also founded many spin-outs, such as Materialise Metris, Layerwise, and Metris.

Joe Beaman – Process pioneer and researcher

Professor Joseph Beaman, an academic, was instrumental in the development and implementation of selective laser sintering. He also became the CTO and founder of DTM Corporation.

Melissa Orme – AM researcher and application specialist

Melissa was an academic who developed an AM research program that led to 15 US patents. She is now the VP of AM at The Boeing Company.

Nora Toure, AM diversity pioneer and business leader

Nora was the founder and chairwoman of the Board at Women in 3D Printing. She created a global network with over 30,000 members to advocate for Women in AM.

The TCT Hall of Fame, which is the focal point of the TCT Awards night, recognizes individuals in the additive manufacturing/3D printing industry who have influenced and inspired industries around the globe. Previous inductees to the prestigious and coveted Hall of Fame are: Chuck Hull, Hans Langer, Wilfried Vancrean, Scott Crump, Adrian Bowyer, Prof Emanuel Sachs, Dr Carl Deckard, Greg Morris, Prof Gideon Levy, Prof Phill Dickens, Terry Wohlers and Elaine Hunt.

The final stage of the process is for the TCT Awards Judges to vote on who they believe most deserves recognition as a member of this distinguished group.

The successful nominees will be announced at the TCT Awards Ceremony on 7th June 2023 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, UK. The annual black-tie event is set to be an exciting evening of celebration and networking with over 250 additive manufacturing and 3D printing professionals.
